Why were smart lighting mode “DxO OpticsPro 7” and “DxO OpticsPro 9” removed, as well as smart exposure mode?

This information applies to version(s): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

In DxO PhotoLab, we decided to move forward by removing some Smart Lighting legacy options that were less efficient (compared to the newest option already offered), and largely abandoned by our users in terms of use.

On top of that, maintaining such legacy options was preventing us to speed up processing time, which is one of the next big challenge we have.

Consequently, smart lighting mode “DxO OpticsPro 9” including related smart exposure mode were removed (as well as Smart Lighting mode “DxO OpticsPro 7”).

You should get better results with default smart lighting setting, which already includes behind the scene an auto-exposure.
