Note:
In some situations, Windows Update service is unable to update to latest Windows 10 edition and/or indicates Windows is already up-to-date.
You can force the update to latest Windows 10 edition by using one of the following methods:
- Using Windows Update
If you notice the text Some settings are managed by your organization in the Windows Update window, it means the updates policy is controlled by your organization/company. To update to latest Windows edition, you should contact your system administrator. Alternatively, you can click Check online for updates from Microsoft Update to check updates directly from Microsoft.
-
Using Windows 10 update Assistant
Another way to update Windows 10 is to download and launch the Windows 10 update assistant. This small utility is available on https://www.microsoft.com/software-download//windows10.
If you own Windows 10 enterprise or Windows 10 education, the assistant will display an error message. In this situation, you have to contact your system administrator.
