Why is the output file size noticeably bigger than the original RAW?

This information applies to version(s): 1, 2

When DNG output is used, DxO PureRAW outputs files as linear DNG, an image format with 3 color information by pixel (whereas a RAW file only has one color information by pixel), and does not apply lossy compression. Consequently, the output DNG file is bigger than either the original RAW file or the JPG compressed output.
