Why do you recommend to use the Nik Collection Palette instead of Photoshop's filter menu?

This information applies to versions 3 and newer

Nik Collection Palette* offers many more features than the filter menu.

The filter menu will only launch the Nik plugins, whereas the Nik Collection Palette can:

  • Launch the plugin's interface.
  • Apply favorite presets with or without launching the interface.
  • Apply the last edit (from the previous editing session) with or without launching the interface.
  • Offer a list of metapresets (which combine the effects of different plugins).
  • Remain visible in your photoshop interface, so that your Nik plugins are always within sight.
  • Prevent problems with unsaved changes which can otherwise occur when opening plugins from the 'Filter' menu.

*Nik Collection Palette is formerly known as Nik Selective Tool
