How can I import or export custom presets / recipes?

This information applies to versions 5 and newer

How to EXPORT:

For Nik Silver Efex - Nik Analog Efex - NikColor Efex - Nik Viveza:

  • From the left panel, open the “Custom” and/or “Imported” tab.
  • Next to the Custom or Imported labels you will see upward and downward facing arrows.
  • Click there and select  “Export All”.
  • Export.

For Nik HDR Efex:

  • From the left panel, open the “Custom” and/ or “Imported” tab.
  • At the bottom of the list, you will find an “Export all” button.
  • Export.

For Nik Dfine (Nik Collection 6):

  • (macOS): Go to /Users/username/Library/Application Support/DxO/Dfine3/Profiles
  • (Windows): Go to C:\Users\userName\AppData\Roaming\DxO\Dfine3\Profiles
  • Copy the profile files.

For Dfine 2 (Nik Collection 5):

  • (macOS) Go to /Users/username/Library/Application Support/DxO/Dfine2/Profiles
  • (Windows) Go to C:\Users\userName\AppData\Roaming\DxO\Dfine2\Profiles
  • Copy the profile files

 

How to IMPORT:

For Nik Silver Efex - Nik Analog Efex - Nik Color Efex - Nik Viveza:

  • From the left panel, open the “Imported” tab.
  • Next to the Imported label you will see upward and downward-facing arrows.
  • Click here and select  “Import preset”.
  • Import.

For Nik HDR Efex:

  • From the left panel, click on the “+” icon next to “Imported".
  • You can now import your previously exported presets.

For Nik Dfine (Nik Collection 6):

  • From the left panel in the tab profiles click on the two arrows and select "browse profile folder" from the context menu
  • Browse to the storage location of your exported profile
  • Select the desired profile for Nik Dfine

For Dfine 2 (Nik Collection 5):

  • From the right panel, click on "Load".
  • Browse to the storage location of your exported profile.
  • Select the desired profile for Dfine 2.
