Does Nik Collection run on the newer Apple M1/M2 processors?

Nik Collection 6 offers native support for Apple M1/M2 architectures for all plugins**

There is no native support M1 for the plugins at this time. We recommend launching plugins using the 'Rosetta 2' option in order to avoid unexpected drops in performance or crashes. We particularly recommend launching Dfine 2 and Sharpener Pro using the Rosetta 2 emulation layer, as otherwise images will be displayed in the preview with artifacts: Make a right-click on the program icon > Information  > enable check-box Open with Rosetta.

The following applies to Nik Collection 5 (released in June 2022) and its predecessor Nik Collection 4 when used with third-party software on computers running Apple Silicon:

• Can be launched from Adobe Photoshop*  and Adobe Photoshop Elements* M1 Native version.
• Can be launched from Adobe Photoshop* and Adobe Photoshop Elements* when they are launched from Rosetta 2.
• Can be launched from Adobe Photoshop* and Adobe Photoshop Elements* Intel version.
• Can be launched from Adobe Lightroom Classic CC* when Adobe Lightroom Classic CC launched from Rosetta 2.
• Can be launched from Adobe Lightroom Classic CC* Intel version.

To launch Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom Classic CC from Intel, either open the Creative Cloud App and click the " ... " > Open (Intel) option or follow these steps from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211861:

• Select Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom Classic CC in the Finder.
• From the File menu in the menu bar, choose Get Info.
• Select checkbox “Open using Rosetta”.
• Restart  Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.
