I cannot see Adobe Lightroom in the detected host applications list during Nik Collection installation: how can I fix this?

This usually happens with a fresh installation of Lightroom where Adobe Lightroom settings have not yet been modified and the preferences file for Lightroom does not exist yet. This file is necessary in order to install Nik plugins correctly.

We recommend the following steps:

1. Open Lightroom Preferences, then make some minor changes and save them.
2. Uninstall Nik:
   • Windows: from Add or remove programs
   • macOS: from uninstaller (available in the applications or in Nik installer).
3. Install Nik Collection again.
