Enable HEIF (.HEIC) Support in DxO PhotoLab 9 for Windows
It’s possible that your version of Windows may not support opening HEIF images in DxO PhotoLab 9. To resolve this issue, you need to install the following codecs on your machine:
 · HEIF Image Extensions (the container reader)
 · HEVC Video Extensions (the compression/decompression engine — HEIF uses the same codec as H.265 video)


Step-by-step installation guide

  1. Quit DxO PhotoLab 9.
  2. Download the HEIF Image Extensions.
  3. – Click here to go to the Microsoft Store.
  4. – Click ‘Get’ and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Purchase the HEVC Video Extensions.
  6. – Click here to go to the Microsoft Store.
  7. – Buy the codec and follow the installation process.
  8. Restart DxO PhotoLab 9 and reopen your HEIF file.
