Which of the different DxO denoising technologies should I use?

This information applies to all versions

Here is a comparison of the different denoising technologies offered:

  • HQ: Fast and quality denoising, but offers the lightest amount of denoising among the three methods.
  • PRIME: Strong Analysis of the image, optimal details, and color preservation, no smoothing. The processing time will be longer than HQ, but less than DeepPRIME.
  • DeepPRIME, DeepPRIME 3, DeepPRIME XD, DeepPRIME XD2s and DeepPRIME XD3 X-Trans Beta: based on artificial intelligence and proposing higher quality results compared to the other two methods. Processing time will vary depending on the user's GPU.

DeepPRIME 3 and DeepPRIME XD2s/XD3 X-Trans beta are the most advanced denoising technologies available today: our neural networks and advanced algorithms will deliver an incredibly high-quality result even for the most difficult shots. If you want to get rid of heavy noise without compromising your image details, this is your best option. DeepPRIME 3 and even more DeedPRIME XD2s/XD3 X-Trans BEta is a very heavy computing process, more than PRIME, but unlike PRIME, it’s GPU accelerated: having a recommended graphics card will greatly improve your overall processing speed!

If your computer doesn’t have a recommended GPU, you can still use DeepPRIME denoising technologies without compromising output quality using its CPU, but the processing time will increase significantly.
