DxO PhotoLab requirements and options when working with a RAW file.

This information applies to all versions

If you want to work with a RAW file:

Support for the camera is REQUIRED. DxO PhotoLab will refuse to work with RAW files from unsupported cameras.

To view our supported cameras & lenses page directly from this article, please click on this link.

The version numbers in this list indicate when support for that camera was introduced: any subsequent versions will of course also be compatible, unless otherwise stated.

Support for new cameras is added through updates/upgrades of the application. We only add support for new cameras in the newest version of DxO PhotoLab. These updates are free if you already own a license for the newest version of DxO PhotoLab.

Lens module is OPTIONAL. DxO PhotoLab will work with RAW files taken with an unsupported lens (as long it supports the camera). But in this case, automatic lens correction (distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, lens softness) won’t be available. However, some automated corrections based on camera calibration or image analysis (such as Smart Lighting or Noise reduction) will be applied anyway. And all manual tools (for lens correction and other adjustments) are available of course. New lens modules do not require an update of the application (again, as long as the camera is supported), but DxO PhotoLab will prompt you to download the right module the first time you open an image taken with this lens.

In the case of a JPEG file, support for the camera becomes optional (DxO PhotoLab can open JPEG files from any camera), but having it enables automatic noise reduction. Lens modules are still optional and everything that was explained for RAW files is still valid.
