If metadata is added to an image's XMP file, why isn't my metadata synchronized with other software?

Make sure the option 'Metadata synchronization' has been activated in the Settings menu. You can find it here:

macOS:

• DxO PhotoLab Menu > Preferences > Advanced

Windows:

• Edit Menu > Preferences > General

Also, check your third-party application to verify synchronization and reading of XMP sidecar files have been activated.
