Affinity Photo 2 (msix version) uses a custom installation procedure (sandboxed) so external applications cannot forward images to Affinity Photo 2 anymore. It’s a well-known issue reported on https://forum.affinity.serif.com/ and it impacts several Software (DxO PhotoLab, DxO PureRAW, PhotoMechanics, RawTherapee...).
There are several workarounds:
- Install Affinity Photo 2 using the MSI installer (now available on Serif account). Original forum thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/170529-extremely-disappointed-that-this-installs-as-an-app-and-not-regular-software-program/page/15/#comment-988771
- Create a small BAT file to bootstrap Affinity Photo 2 startup and references this bat file in DxO PhotoLab. Original forum thread: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/170283-affinity-photo-v2-exe-file-location/&do=findComment&comment=977088
- Download MSIX installer, extract it in a folder (like c:\AP2), and use the program from this folder in DxO PhotoLab.
