What improvements does DxO PhotoLab 9.6 bring to AI Masks on Windows (NVIDIA RTX / WinML)?

This information applies to latest version

Some Windows users have experienced performance and stability issues when using AI Masks in DxO PhotoLab.

After several months of close collaboration with NVIDIA and Microsoft, along with extensive testing and benchmarking, DxO PhotoLab 9.6 brings significant improvements in these areas.

With DxO PhotoLab 9.6, AI Mask stability and performance have been significantly improved, and additional optimizations have also been introduced:

  • On NVIDIA RTX 30xx to 50xx GPUs, DeepPRIME processing is now 14% to 25% faster
  • Memory management has been improved for systems with less than 16 GB of VRAM
  • Stability has also been significantly improved on Intel GPU configurations

These improvements apply only to systems running Windows 11 version 23H2 or later.

At this stage, these fixes and optimizations do not apply to:

  • Windows 10
  • Windows 11 versions earlier than 23H2
  • NVIDIA GTX graphics cards
  • NVIDIA RTX 20xx graphics cards

Despite the involvement of NVIDIA and Microsoft, technical limitations remain on these configurations.

DxO remains fully committed to delivering the highest possible level of performance within the technical constraints of each supported platform.
