What's the best way to perform a 'clean reinstallation' of DxO PhotoLab? (Windows only)

This information applies to all versions

Some issues can be solved by reinstalling DxO PhotoLab using the method described below. We ask that you please try this before opening a support ticket.

To try a clean installation please follow the procedure below:

  • Uninstall DxO PhotoLab via the Start menu's right-click options or the Windows control panel.
  • Delete the following folders (The folders below may not be visible until Windows Explorer's folder view options are changed to "show hidden files and folders"):
    • C:\Program Files\DxO\DxO PhotoLab ... (please substitute the respective version number if using an older version)
    • C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\DxO
    • C:\ProgramData\DxO
    • C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\DxO (this folder contains the database which might be corrupt)

Note: If you don't see the folders, change the folder view in Windows Explorer and check "Show hidden files and folders" under Folder Options > View.

  • Finally, download DxO PhotoLab from your DxO account, then right-click the installation file and choose "run as administrator"
